distribution requirements without compromising on performance or budget. Manufactured from proven quality materials, the majority from re-sustained

sources. The benefit of this simple solution to raised access flooring has been recognised by many major developers, specifiers and end users who have

adopted Microdek® as a standard throughout their projects.

Flexibility: ‘Today & Tomorrow’

The Microdek® system incorporates conventional steel adjustable pedestal supports, which are designed to accommodate variations in sub-floor

levels. All panels are flat, square and fully interchangeable allowing for the reconfiguration of services when required.

Full Access System

The system incorporates modular panels 600 x 600mm; each panel can be removed with ease by using the Microdek® ‘Panel Key’ this is

inserted between the panel edges. Once the panel is removed direct access to the services contained within the void is achieved.

Panels

Manufactured from high-density flooring grade particleboard to (EN312) part 6, standard panels are 598 x 598 x 38mm (Medium Duty)

and 598 x 598 x 30mm (Light Duty). Where required oversized panels can be introduced to ensure that areas containing raked or curved

cutting can be accommodated without compromise.

Pedestal Supports

A standard range of M16 steel adjustable pedestal supports independently tested for compliance to the current BS/EN/12825 up-to a void height of 385 mm are available to purchase on this website.

PSA Pedestals independently tested to T5, 15 & 16 of the MOB PF2 PS (SPU) 1992 are

available to accommodate voids of 370mm through to 600mm. where required lateral stringers can be introduced to offer greater load bearing support

and lateral stability. Pedestals are adhered to the sub floor with Metalfloor pedestal adhesive. Where required each pedestal base can accept up to four

mechanical fixings, a feature not commonly available with concrete or chipboard ‘block type’ pedestal supports.

Low Voids

Using the ‘Mini-Ped’ range of pedestals a minimum void of 30mm can be achieved. This makes the Microdek® System ideal for refurbishment projects

where restrictions on existing floor to ceiling height or ‘fixed points’ prove problematic. 

Regulations: Fire

Current building regulations and British Standards exempt raised access floors with voids of less than 200mm high or single areas of 64m2 or less

from flame spread inhibition provided that accredited fire barriers are placed at the specific spacing. (Class 1 or 0 @ 20 metre centres) (All other classes @ 10 metre centres).

Microdek® is a class 3 product and therefore requires fire barriers at 10 metre centres.

Low Maintenance

 Due to the simplicity of the components employed, the Microdek® System requires little or no maintenance when used in line with the manufacturers recommendations, which are

outlined in the maintenance manual issued to the end user at handover stage.

Quick Response:

 Microdek® is generally available in volume directly from stock either on a supply only basis,enabling an immediate response for fast track projects.

Each 38 mm Microdek® panel weighs 10kg.

Loading

The Microdek® Medium Duty system conforms to the Structural Requirements laid out in section P4.01 of the performance specification MOB PF2

PS/SPU 1992 (Medium Grade Static Loadings), together with a point load deflection of less than 2.8mm and a three times safety factor in line with P4.03

of the same document. Microdek® is a low cost alternative to steel encapsulated systems offering a durable walk and work surface from high quality components manufactured to exacting tolerances.
